Toronto Talent: Studio1098

Toronto has Talent… and her name is Tamara.

At H. Halpern Esq. we like to seek out home-grown talent. Our location, in the lobby of a downtown hotel, is the perfect place to promote Toronto based artists and manufacturers. For several years we have been pleased to carry some beautiful cufflinks from Tamara Kronis, the goldsmith and owner of Studio1098. The cufflinks she has made for our shop are both unique and familiar—often featuring Canadian themes.

Studio1098 is a small boutique. Tamara designs everything she sells, and makes everything in the shop with the help of her team. The designs are influenced by many genres and eras of jewellery. She is inspired by vintage and antique jewellery, especially Art Deco and Art Nouveau pieces. Tamara’s work is influenced by her travels, design and architecture, geometry and nature.

Tamara’s Maple Leaf cufflinks are really special—the two cufflinks are cast from slightly different shaped leaf designs to reflect leaves found in nature. These handmade solid sterling silver maple leaf cufflinks are a funky and sophisticated way to say you are proud to be Canadian! And they make a great keepsake for those visiting from abroad.

In addition Tamara has tapped into the hockey lover in all of us with her Goalie Mask cufflinks. Made of sterling silver they are available in (Toronto Maple Leaf) Blue, (Montreal Canadians) Red and Black.

And our favourites, the Coin Collection set in sterling silver and featuring Canadian Nickel cufflinks as well as—the now out-of-circulation—Canadian Pennie cufflinks. She will even find specific years for you if you have a special date you wish to commemorate.

We are proud to be Canadian, and we are proud to carry cufflinks from Studio1098 (studio1098customjewellery.com)
