1. Collar points - The Long and the Shirt of it.
All you ever wanted to know about a shirt. - Colours By Day, Whites At Night - Patterned and coloured shirts look better in daylight. At night, white is right and is often more elegant.
- Regular Collar: Good for everything from dress wear to very casual.
- Button-down & Under-button Collar: Definitely more casual, but still suitable for business attire.
- Windsor Spread, or Cut-away Collar: A refined collar with a classic European look. Great for evening and business wear.
- Highboy (with one or two buttons): With a higher neck band, and spread collar, this style is becoming more the norm than the exception in sport shirts. For a dressier look, a tie can be worn but be sure the knot you use is a larger one.
- Fashion Collars: Interesting collars, such as the Riley, Tab or Penny-round collars are suitable for most occasions. The fabric of the shirt may be a factor in determining how dressy it can be.
- Remember: Different collar styles will require different tie knots.
2. Sizing-Breath Easy!
Most men wear shirts with collars that are too tight, and don't even realize it. Ask us and we will gladly take your measurements for a really comfortable fit. If you are not able to come to us, then follow these simple instructions.
How to measure yourself for a correct fit:
Sleeve length:
Measure from the middle of the back (just below your collar) over the top of your shoulder, down to the point where you want the sleeves to end. NOTE: a properly fitting dress shirt should extend ¼”-½” beyond the bottom of your jacket sleeve. The shirt cuff should sit at the top of your thumb joint (where your thumb joins your hand)
If you find that your sleeve length falls between two of our sizes, you should choose the longer of the two.
Neck size:
Wrap a tape measure around your neck, where your collar normally rests. Place two fingers between your neck and the tape. This added space ensures a more comfortable fit, even after the shirt has shrunk slightly due to washing.
All of our cotton shirts are manufactured to allow for shrinkage. Any noticeable shrinkage will take place over the first three to four washes, and can be up to 2.5%
If you have any questions about determining your proper shirt size, please do not hesitate to contact us.
3. Shirt Care: How to clean your shirts.
Our shirts are 100% cotton and made in Canada, unless otherwise stated. All of our shirts, except for silk shirts, are machine washable. Always refer to the care label inside the garment for specific washing instructions. Please take out removable collar stays prior to cleaning

Wash shirts by hand or machine in cold water to avoid shrinkage and fading. Wash dark colours separately and use a colour detergent. To keep dark colours from fading over time, we would recommend dry cleaning.

We DO NOT recommend using bleach

We DO NOT recommend that you tumble dry

We recommend hanging to dry and ironing while shirt is still damp to the touch.

It is best to iron while the shirts are still damp, using a hot iron. While ironing collars, iron away from the collar points to avoid getting unsightly creasing at the front of the collar. This is the same with cuffs, iron away from the edges. Dark colours are best ironed on the reverse side

If you choose to have your shirts professionally cleaned, we recommend “laundering” over “dry cleaning” for most shirts. Dark colours should be “dry cleaned” to preserve the colour.
